Small Beginnings of a Giant

Tells the humble beginnings of CTURA Solutions Ltd

The question lingers for nigerians, “which advanced technological company or venture can be ascribed to Nigeria”.     I n the need of technological solutions, who would she look to?

Rome wasn’t built in a day, likewise, technology firms. Famous multinationals like ACER, Amazon, GE, HP, Microsoft, Shell, Honda etc., popular for their technological prowess were pioneered by private individuals. And who could ever have thought, the firms humbly started from living rooms, garages or small workshops? Some of these multinationals today are associated with their parent countries such as Taiwan, America etc, and were founded by students, after their post-graduate studies. For instance, Hewlett Packard (HP) was started by two post-graduate students. Likewise, Stan Shin and his wife, the founder of ACER. And the list goes on and on. The question lingers for Nigerians, possessing high number of post-graduates, “which (advanced) technological company or venture can be ascribed to Nigeria”. In the need of technological solutions, who would she look to?

CTURA Solutions is a registered Nigerian company with the mission of providing technological solutions to indigenous and worldwide problems.

In fact, the name CTURA was derived from the term “Concept to Reality”. The company was founded by Gbenga Ajisafe, after completing his post-graduate studies in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the prestigious Kyushu University, the Alma matter of the Japanese Astronaut, Koichi Wakata.

It is the company’s model to provide innovative technological solutions to problems and build businesses around the innovation. Apart from research, design and development, it also provides services such as product or project lifecycle costing, and rapid prototyping services

Amongst its advisory team are persons of distinguished reputations in their fields. Presently, it has two approved board of advisers. It hopes to expand its advisory team to include foreign, experienced personnel, by the ending of July. Apart from its human resource competence, it is equipped with the basic facilities to perform, its current activities. The facilities include; Xeon 7 and Core i7 processor high performance computers, for high end engineering modeling, analysis and simulations.

It also has electronic kits such as little bits, Arduino and other mechanical kits. And it is in the process of acquiring a rapid prototyping facility, all for easy prototyping of engineering ideas.

The workspace consist of a main office arena, a conference room, pantry as well as a convenience. It has a library of over 300 science, engineering, business and management books, supported by online facilities. There are also recreational facilities such as; thread mill, piano etc., since recreation fosters creativity. The business’ core competencies are knowledge, innovation and creativity. It’s CTURA’s top priority that the work environment facilitates these core competencies. It is the policy of the firm to continuously expand its facilities to cater for the well-being of its team members.

Presently, it is researching, designing and developing a stirling engine named, “CTURA SE-1” and a parabolic solar collector, “CTURA PSC-1” as an energy alternative.

The design and development process so far has revealed some hurdles in the Nigerian industrial sector especially in the area of manufacturing and engineering technology. We welcome this as a problem to be solved and a hurdle to be overcome.

It is our hope that by the month of July, a prototype would already be developed for testing. We also have plans during the year of giving presentations at national conferences and seminars.

This is the first newsletter on the start-up company, CTURA Solutions Ltd. The story has being of an interesting and humble beginning, like most famous multinationals. It is our hope that the CTURA first becomes a national and then, global brand.
